BAYAN has partnered with Thaicom Plc. to help address the lack of affordable connectivity options for the business transactions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Joevel Rivera, Bayan VP for product development and management, explained: “Thaicom Plc.’s IPSTAR satellite covers almost the entire Philippines with bandwidth capacity to support up to 1.5 gigabits per second dedicated to the Philippine islands alone. This capacity is sufficient to support tens of thousands of Internet devices and provides more cost-effective connectivity solutions to businesses in underserved areas.” The partnership benefits business establishments that have not been able to expand operations in certain areas due to the prohibitive cost of communications networks.
