KNOWLEDGE Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) salutes its biggest supporters in the first Knowledge Channel Outstanding Stakeholders Awards (KOSA) to be held Nov. 6 at the Eugenio Lopez Center in Antipolo.

By recognizing schools that effectively use Knowledge Channel, cable operators that have “served as the conduit to provide it to marginalized public schools,” and loyal donors, the foundation hopes to inspire more stakeholders to utilize the technology and to propagate its use as a learning tool.

Awards will be given out in two categories, in addition to the special awards for KCh’s individual partners.

The winner of the Outstanding School Award will receive a trophy, a 29-inch TV set, an encyclopedia set, gift packs, certificates of recognition for the school head and KCh coordinator, a special feature on KCh and other special prizes. The Special Citation for School Division comes with a trophy, gift packs and certificates of recognition for the superintendent, division KCh coordinator and district supervisor.

Education Secretary Jesli Lapus will also receive an award for his efforts to push for the wider use of educational television in Philippine public schools.

KOSA 2009 will cap KCh’s 10th anniversary celebrations which kicked off midyear with a new theme song and advocacy plugs, corporate immersion trips and press familiarization tours to public schools with KCh, and even a “text donation campaign with a twist.”
