1960 The Lopez Memorial Museum and Library is founded in Pasay City on February 13 1972 John RM Taylor’s “Philippine Insurrection Against the United States,” which is distributed for free to libraries in the Philippines, is published 1980 Publication of Eugenio Lopez Foundation’s “Juan Luna: The Filipino as Painter” by Santiago Pilar 1981 Publication of “The Complete Writings of Dr. Eduardo Quisumbing” 1983 Publication of “Philippine Rariora: A Descriptive Catalogue of 17th Century Imprints in the Lopez Memorial Museum” 1984 Publication of Helen Valmayor’s “Orchidiana Filipiniana” 1986 The museum moves from its Pasay site to the Benpres Building 1990s Starts acquiring works by modern Filipino artists 2002 The Roberto M. Lopez Conservation Center is established 2003 The museum is certified to the ISO 9001 standard 2004 The library starts its digitization project 2008 The conservation lab receives a grant from the Society for the Preservation of Philippine Culture Inc. to purchase additional equipment 2010 The museum celebrates its 50th anniversary with an exhibit and a commemorative book, “Unfolding: Half a Century of the Lopez Memorial Museum and Library 2011 The Zero In museum consortium marks its 10th anniversary with Open Call 2012 The exhibit Beat opens on May 19 |
