Extended LAAThe Lopez Achievement Awards (LAA) Program Management Team has extended the deadline for submission of teams and individual nominees for the 2014 Cycle Lopez Achievement Awards (LAA) as well as individual nominees for The Unsung Hero Award.
Nominees for the 2014 Cycle LAA must meet the following criteria: Contributions to Business Results (30%); Exceptional Nature of the Achievement (30%); and Demonstration of Lopez Group Values (40%). They must also show achievements done within the year 2014.
LAA nominations may fall under any of the following categories: Customer Focus, Human Resource Focus, Business Management, Corporate Image-Building, Public Responsibility and Operations Management.
All nominations will be subjected to a rigorous screening process that starts from the assessment of compliance to the requirements and guidelines by the LAA Program Management Team. It will then be subjected to an evaluation and Q&A session by the LAA Screening Committee, comprised of cross-functional mid-level and senior officers from the Lopez Group who are charged to endorse the semi-finalists to the Panel of Judges.

Canlas, Program Co-Director; and the new members of the team -are Ross Hamo, Program Manager; Karen Ventura and Glenda DiscutidoThe Panel of Judges, comprised of a member of the Lopez Family, Senior Executives from the Lopez Group and External Judges from reputable institutions, will assess and endorse the finalists to the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee members are Amb. Manolo M. Lopez, Chairman of Lopez Holdings; Eugenio Lopez III, Chairman of ABS-CBN Corporation; Federico R. Lopez, Chairman and CEO of First Philippine Holdings (FPH); Elpidio L. Ibanez, President and COO of FPH, and Salvador I. Tirona, President of Lopez Holdings Corporation. The Executive Committee will confirm and award the deserving teams and individuals.
Team awardees for the LAA will each receive an LAA trophy designed by National Artist, Mr. Napoleon Abueva, plus a cash prize amounting to P50,000.00. Each member of the team will also receive individual trophies plus an LAA jacket. Individual awardees for the LAA will also receive an LAA trophy, plus P50,000.00 in cash and an LAA jacket.
This year marks the launch of "The Unsung Hero Award". This award aims to recognize individual employees who have rendered consistent, reliable and solid performance in the workplace through the years or over a period of 10 years or more.
The LAA Trophies designed by National Artist, Mr. Napoleon AbuevaThis award is open to all employees up to Manager level. Nominees must meet the following criteria: Exemplary Performance and Impact (25%); Exceptional Acts of Courage and Commitment (25%); Exceptional Qualities, Character and Attitude (25%); and Demonstration of the Lopez Values (25%).
The Unsung Hero awardees will each receive a special medal and a cash prize amounting to P10,000.00.
All nominations for the LAA and The Unsung Hero Award must be duly endorsed by the HR Heads and the company Presidents and CEOs. They must be received by the LAA Program Management Team on or before June 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
The awarding ceremonies will be held on October 15, 2015 at the Studio 10 of ABS-CBN Corporation. Best practice sharing by the LAA awardees will be held during the Winners’ Summit in January 2016.
