This November, as we celebrate the 31st National Children’s Month with the theme “Healthy, nourished, sheltered: Ensuring the right to life for all,” we are all asked to fortify the lives of our children. Our collective endeavor at the Knowledge Channel Foundation is to champion the holistic growth of children, fostering environments where they can thrive with joy and confidence.
Early childhood is a pivotal stage, demanding our utmost dedication to ensure that children are not only healthy and well-nourished, but also emotionally and intellectually stimulated. This mission is a community’s shared heartbeat, echoing the timeless wisdom that it indeed takes a village to raise a child.
Our homes are the first classrooms, and parents, the inaugural teachers. It is here that the seeds of curiosity, creativity and the passion for learning are sown. However, a startling Asian Development Bank study reveals that Filipino parental engagement in education is just 22%, underscoring an urgent need for greater involvement.
Addressing this, our foundation offers a wealth of resources. Shows like “I Love You 1000: Batang #Laking1000” and “Dok Ricky, Pedia” focus on a child’s first 1,000 days, while “Kuwentong Kartero” supports nurturing from pregnancy through adolescence. Additionally, “TalkED” streams invaluable advice for early childhood care.
Our educational content for children stimulates young minds through “Kwentoons,” “Kuwentong Pambata” and “Musikantahan.” Moreover, our early childhood development training empowers caregivers and educators to mold our youth into the pillars of a progressive society.
We invite you to join hands with us in advocating for early childhood development nationwide. Support our efforts by contributing to the Knowledge Channel Foundation through BPI Acct.
