“Para Kay Bhie” was named as the winner of KCFI and the Philippine Association of Communication Educators’ “Class Project” intercollegiate minidocumentary competition during the Pinoy Media Congress (PMC) 2025 at the University of Makati on April 25.

From students of National University-Dasmariñas, the documentary follows a child who overcomes pain from hardships by becoming a force for change, embracing his identity and receiving justice.

“Ilaw” by La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan, which is about a mother’s unwavering support for her child with special needs, placed second. University of Makati’s “Uhap,” which highlights efforts to preserve the Ayta Magbukun language in Bataan, placed third. The winning films and finalists are airing throughout this month on Knowledge Channel.

Still at the PMC, KCFI partnerships head Danie Sedilla-Cruz engaged over 1,000 delegates in a talk on producing educational content. She encouraged the students to champion early childhood development and transformative learning in their future work, recognizing the power that future media practitioners have in transforming the lives of the Filipino.
