The Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) awarded Bayan Academy a threeyear certificate of accreditation after an impartial scrutiny and verification with its standards of good governance, management and accountability.
Bayan Academy is a notfor- profit social development organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Cooperative Development Authority. The PCNC certification is valid from February 26, 2016 to February 25, 2019.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue also awarded Bayan Academy a certificate of registration as a donee institution on May 27, 2016. As a donee institution, Bayan Academy has the right to receive tax-deductible and tax-exempt donations under the Tax Code.
Philip Felipe, executive director of Bayan Academy, said the accreditations show that “as a first-time applicant, Bayan Academy has not only been contributing in building the country from the ground but is also operating as a professional organization.”
Bayan Academy, which dedicated the milestone to its partners and to the beneficiaries of its entrepreneurship, education, employment, environment and ethics programs, said it hopes to create more partnerships as it positions itself as a learning organization and as a “servicer of servicers.”
