One hundred thirty-eight students of Asian Development Bank Spouses Association (ADBSA) Aeta Elementary School, together with eight teachers and 14 community leaders, received grocery packs and school supplies fromThe school also received three stand fans to help ease the condition of the students, especially those who are assigned to the two makeshift classrooms.
The donation was made possible by the generosity of St. Theresa’s College Manila HS Batch ’69.
According to teacher Ronald Albagadela Cruz, the students usually lack school supplies. “As early as June, school supplies are already scarce, and they only rely on those who will donate,” Cruz said.
He added that the groceries are also a big help as the staple food of the students is rice.
“During the months of July to September, there is inadequate food for the kids. So, you coming here is truly a blessing,” he told Bantay Kalikasan.
Head teacher Melanie Salazar Capili also expressed her appreciation to the donors.
“We are truly grateful for St. Theresa’s College of Manila Batch ’69 for donating grocery packs, school supplies and three units of electric fans for our indigenous students. Thank you for helping the kids with their education,” Capili said. (Story/Photos by: Althea Cahayag)
