First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) believes that the future of the world depends on how you hone those who will live in it.
Palarong Pinoy, branded as “Batang Bibo,” one of FPIP’s flagship corporate social responsibility projects, aims to reintroduce traditional Filipino sports and instill traditional Filipino values among the youth.
Held annually, Batang Bibo is one of the most awaited events in FPIP’s host communities participated in by children aged nine years old and below. Traditional games include sipa, luksong lubid, luksong tinik, patintero habulang sako, sundot hipon, kadang-kadang and many more. Through this activity, values such as teamwork, communication, unity, integrity, and sportsmanship are inculcated in the children.
Hands-On Tanauan, a youth organization of FPIP, served as marshals and oversaw the various games under the supervision of FPIP community relations officer Marco Antonio Amurao.
Other stakeholders like the Sangguniang Barangay, school administrations, the PTA, barangay health workers and the Sangguniang Kabataan showed their support by fielding volunteers and ensuring peace and order throughout the activity.
