As the country celebrated the 2022 National Teachers’ Month from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) gifted more teachers and learners across the country with access to its video lessons and professional development programs.
The first of these events was “The Power of Yet: Growth Mindset in Learning and Education” at the 2022 Manila International Book Fair in September. As part of the afternoon program by the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council called “A Celebration for Teachers,” KCFI president and executive director Rina Lopez discussed how powerful a growth mindset can be for early childhood education and development (see related story on page 7).
A little more than a week later, the Knowledge Channel Teaching in the New Normal (KC TINN) training program was conducted for the 139 teachers and 10 principals of the schools division office (SDO) of Dasmariñas City. Thanks to BDO Foundation and Huawei Philippines, 10 more schools are now KC TINN-trained and ready to create meaningful learning environments for their learners with the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML) external hard drive.
Also thanks to Cecille Marino, Cuyambay Elementary School in Rizal is now equipped with KC PML. After the turnover activities, the teachers were trained on maximizing the KC PML in learning. The 284 learners and their teachers received food packs from Gen. Benjamin Santos Jr. and Gloria Santos, as well as “smile” masks from newscaster Bernadette Sembrano Aguinaldo. In Olongapo City, the Special Education Center for the Gifted received a KC PML with an added Knowledge TV from Subic EnerZone Corporation.
Finally, KCFI and UnileverBreeze launched “EcoProject Year 2: Kilos Kabataan Para sa Kapaligiran” in Taguig City and Pateros through a Zoom kickoff on Sept. 30. The event aimed to introduce the environmental campaign to the learners of SDO Taguig City and Pateros.
