The First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) security detachment fire brigade team under Southlink Security competed in the 2nd Aksyon Bilis Urban Fire Olympics on March 16, 2024. The tilt took place at the CDRRMO Gymnasium in Sto. Tomas, Batangas and drew participation from three other emergency response teams or ERTs from the industrial sector.
The competition, which kicked off around 8:30 a.m., featured three events: rescue and transfer relay, a combination of busted hose and up-the-ladder, and flammable liquid fire extinguishment. Teams showcased their skills and speed in handling various firefighting scenarios.
Following the series of rigorous challenges, the FPIP fire brigade team went head-to-head with the defending champion in a decisive tiebreaker. Ultimately, the FPIP team emerged as the runner-up with a second-place finish.
The 2nd Aksyon Bilis Urban Fire Olympics, organized by the Bureau of Fire Protection in Sto. Tomas, successfully concluded just before noon. The event not only highlighted the capabilities of local fire brigade teams but also underscored the importance of readiness and teamwork in emergencies.
