Lopez Center at the 2024 International Conference on UN Sustainable Development Goals and Social Innovation (ICUNSSI) hosted by the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
On Sept. 19, the closing day of the two-day conference, Torres and Cura presented three groundbreaking papers focused on climate resilience and inclusivity: ‘The Deaf Amidst Climate Disasters: A Vulnerability Assessment Report of Deaf Communities in the Philippines’; ‘Content Matters: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Discourse in the Philippines’; and ‘Improving Local Sea-Level Rise Estimates in the Philippines: Integration of Local Oceanographic Processes Using Machine Learning Methods.’ ICUNSSI is the flagship conference of MSU-IIT dedicated to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through social innovation. The conference gathers experts, changemakers and partners across the Philippines, all working together in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
