Sky LogoEight SKY kapamilya from the Visayas system have been awarded Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) certifications after completing the training requirements and passing the certification exams.

The new CFOTs are Dionesio Anana, Arsenio Escaran Jr. and Mario Lejarzo of SKY Cebu; Timothy John Araneta and Albert Elijah dela Peña of SKY Bacolod; Deo Ramil Daria and Kim Jerell Develles of SKY Iloilo; and Alnair Flores of SKY Dumaguete.

Undergoing CFOT training provided the SKY technicians with the expertise to identify fiber types and recognize con
nectors used in fiber installation; and install, terminate, splice and properly fault test installed fiber cable to existing standards.

The program also educated the technicians on the history and future of fiber optics, the capabilities of the technology and its applications for business.
