Here’s your chance to be a teacher! Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) is inviting all Lopez Group employees to volunteer as a Teacher-for-a-Day on November 11, 2014.
Employee-volunteer teachers will conduct a session on Disaster Preparedness Life Skills called 4K: Kaalaman, Kahandaan, Kaligtasan, Katatagan for selected public schools (Grades 5-6) along the Pasig River.
This training session is culled from the Learning through Enhanced Pedagogies (LEEP) model of disaster risk reduction and management. KCFI will schedule a two-hour training session for employee-volunteers prior to the event.
LEEP, launched early this year, is the brainchild of Dr. Fe Hidalgo which reinforces the principals’ and teachers’ knowledge and skills of learner-centered approaches in the classroom, such as constructivism and critical thinking, focusing on the effective learning of the students.
KCFI President Rina Lopez-Bautista said “LEEP is created to help education leaders, especially the teachers in the classrooms, to continuously hone their craft, improve their leadership abilities and touch the hearts, the minds, and the lives of the students especially now within the context of the many change in education.”
