I have received some questions asking me to explain the relationship between integrity and trust. Are they the same thing? If integrity is a Lopez value, how exactly does trust fit in?

Integrity means not compromising our basic moral values; because when we compromise our morals, we cease to be whole and complete – we cease to have “integrity.”

It is only when we have “integrity” that we create an atmosphere of “trust.” In other words, integrity creates trust. Integrity is the essential value that engenders trust.

That’s why moral integrity is so important to my family. If we lose our integrity, we will also lose the trust of those who matter to us – our friends, our partners, and especially our employees
