Mga kapamilya,
For some of us, the year 2016 cannot end soon enough. Those of us who felt sorrow and heartache, underwent health challenges or suffered personal loss are hoping for a much better year in 2017.
I want to thank all of our kapamilya who condoled with our family when my husband, Steve, passed away in March. He was born Greek, but was very much Filipino at heart. He risked so much for the freedom of our people during those dark days of martial rule. Thank you for remembering him, for mourning with our family and for celebrating his life lived for others, especially for us Filipinos.
Christmas allows us to hope for better days. Despite the turmoil and uncertainty in our personal lives, in our country and around the world, we must believe that Jesus came as a child to save us because of God’s love for us. We are not worthy, but God loves us anyway.
Christmas is a celebration of this love God has for us, enough to send His only begotten Son to reconcile us to Himself. No matter what or how we suffer, let us remember God’s love that embraces us every moment of our life.
I wish everyone a joyous Christmas and peace and prosperity in the New Year.
