The hustle and bustle has begun. The noise, the crowds, the traffic have all started to escalate. The rush to update Christmas lists, decorate the home, buy presents, create the Christmas dinner menu, organize get-togethers is at hand.

Early Christmas gifts are being delivered and online greetings have begun circulating.

The Christmas season is upon us.

In the building merriment, it is easy to get distracted by the revelry and celebration.

All this activity overlaps with our day-to-day responsibilities at work: deadlines, meetings, KPIs and objectives.

And there is of course the never-ending list of things we need to take care of at home— our children, their homework, repairs, bills, food budgets. The list is endless.

Before we know it, Christmas will have come and gone and we will be at the start of a new year, facing its surge of tasks and commitments.

Amidst this incessant flurry of activity, remember this, my dear Kapamilya—we are blessed with family.

Family is our refuge, our safe harbor, our place of silence and rejuvenation. Family is our place of joy and our place of love.

As the ABS-CBN Christmas station ID says: Pag-ibig, pag-asa at saya Yan ang lagi mong dala Sa pamilya mo ang tunay na Pasko Family is love, family is love…”

Each day with family is Christmas day. Shower every member of your family with love.

But also, may I ask, this Christmas look for someone who has no family—because he is separated from his loved ones or perhaps he has lost his loved ones. Be family to them and let them again feel that family is love. Through you, let them again know the meaning of Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Ka pamilya, and may each of your homes be blessed with our Lord’s holy presence.
