Christmas tree located at the R1 LevelRockwell’s transformation into a wonderland brimming with festive cheer and surprises at every corner kicks off the holiday season. With exclusive gifts and thrilling raffles, Christmas 2024 promise to be even more special for all.
Rockwell has always been iconic at Christmastime. This year, it truly took a village to light up Rockwell Center. The Christmas tree lighting and the brilliant display of lights across the center followed—a heartwarming moment as Santa and the kids led the countdown, filling the evening with joy.
Inside the mall are three magnificent Christmas trees, the biggest one reaching 50 feet high and adorned with 300 ornaments. At the Plaza Garden, a 15-meter tree adds to the holiday merriment. Creating the cheerful ambience throughout Rockwell Center took 11,000 sets of Christmas lights across nearly 200 trees. And the crowning glory? The breathtaking duralights measuring over 105,000 meters that line the buildings in Rockwell and transform them into a radiant spectacle.
The holiday festivities began on Nov. 3 at Rockwell Center with a performance by the Christmas Rockettes at the North Court, where families were captivated by roving stilt walkers and balloon artists.
Unveiled during the event was the car raffle with two grand prizes for the winner’s choosing: a Lexus GX Overtrail and a Land Rover Defender 110—the first time these iconic vehicles have been paired together in a car raffle. To make the contest even more exciting, the winner gets to pick which car keys to keep. Watch for the big day on Feb. 1, 2025!
At the Plaza Garden, acrobats and jugglers wowed the crowd with mesmerizing performances. Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers delivered a spectacular performance that set the stage for the countdown.
As the yuletide spirit continues to grow, even more surprises await Rockwell patrons, such as the “25 Thrills of Christmas” where lucky shoppers have a chance to win special prizes each day leading up to Christmas.
Moreover, guests can look forward to Santa Claus as he makes his way to Rockwell on the weekends of December until Dec. 25, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Santolan Christmas Year 4
Meanwhile, the holiday season officially arrived at Santolan Town Plaza on Nov. 4. With the retail hub celebrating the lighting of its Christmas tree and Rockwell’s emblematic duralights, it became the first retail development to kick off the Christmas season in San Juan. The event marked the fourth year of this beloved holiday tradition at Rockwell’s San Juan outpost, bringing cheer to the community.
The Corazon de Jesus Choir welcomed the crowd with carols, filling the air with festive melodies. The lighting ceremony unveiled a 33-foot tree adorned with nearly 250 dazzling ornaments and illuminated by 40,000 light bulbs. As the lights twinkled to life, the space transformed into a festive atmosphere perfect for dining, shopping and soaking up the Christmas spirit.
Adding to the festive cheer were Rockwell’s yuletide fairs. A bustling bazaar where the aroma of baked treats mingled with the warm glow of lights and towering Christmas trees—that’s what awaited guests in the run-up to the holidays.
Holiday Fairs
The Rockwellist Holiday Fairs transformed the Plaza Garden across the mall entrance near Zara into a gift haven with gourmet food, refreshing beverages and unique gift ideas. For four weekends, it was the go-to spot for gift-seekers and last-minute shoppers.
Urbanpod Events kicked off the holiday market with a unique mix of food and nonfood merchants from Nov. 15 to Nov. 24. Visitors delighted in home goods from Amber & Anne, leather pieces from Katre PH and culturally inspired jewelry from Paul Raymond.
The second week of the Holiday Fairs, from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1, was all about indulging the taste buds. The focus shifted to delectable treats perfect for gifting one’s foodie friends and family. From savory bites to sweet indulgences, there was something to satisfy every craving. Guests feasted on the local flavors of San Juan favorite Bun Run’s juicy smashed burgers, Tripod’s artisanal pizzas, Mamita’s comforting lasagna and the decadent Matilda chocolate cake from Megamax.
Holiday happy hours awaited from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8. Feisty’s homemade brewed iced teas in flavors like classic calamansi, honey monk fruit, mango dalandan and hibiscus berry made for an intriguing pair with Blue Apron’s poke tacos, a tasty treat featuring fresh fish and vegetables in a crispy seaweed wrapper.
Petalier’s stunning flower arrangements attracted shoppers on the lookout for all-occasion gifts, while For Keeps Clean Beauty and their range of ecofriendly skincare and body care products drew visitors seeking sustainable beauty solutions.
The final week of the Holiday Fairs offered lastminute treasures: Andante’s handcrafted leather footwear, Common Mode’s stylish sportswear, Artisinat Handmade essentials and accessories from Heart Factory.
The festive magic extended beyond Rockwell Center with weekend markets also happening at Santolan Town Plaza and at The Grove Retail Row in Pasig.
