ABS-CBNmobile is now available to even more Filipinos nationwide with its new partnerships with SM Supermalls (SM), the country’s largest shopping mall chain, and Telepreneur Corp. (TPC), a multi-level marketer that mainly offers mobile phone loading services through its members nationwide.
Chito Franco, Head of National Sales and Distribution of ABS-CBN Convergence Inc., said this will help ABS-CBNmobile strengthen its presence all over the country, especially in places where it has few distributors and dealers.
ABS-CBNmobile SIMs will now be available in all SM Malls, making it easier for people, especially those who frequent SM Malls, to buy their SIMs and enjoy ABS-CBNmobile’s services.
“SM is the biggest shopping mall chain in the country and this will certainly help ABS-CBNmobile reach out to more Filipinos much more easily,” said Franco.
“With TPC, we also plan to focus on some pilot areas to see how we can make our presence felt in areas that are far from malls, or areas that are a bit harder to reach,” he said.
These pilot areas include those outside Metro Manila where a stronger presence will benefit ABS-CBNmobile.
Lorenzo B. Rellosa, President of TPC, said his company can help ABS-CBNmobile with its continuously growing membership.
“We have almost 530,000 members. There are many whose families benefited from being part of TPC,” said Rellosa.
Aside from that, he added that TPC’s community of enterprising Filipinos have the ability and the network to quickly spread ABS-CBNmobile SIMs and load services nationwide.
“We are honored to have this partnership with ABS-CBN, and we look forward to a very fruitful collaboration,” said Rellosa.
Nandy Villar, Head of Marketing of ABS-CBN Convergence Inc., said he looks forward to having these pilot areas where TPC can help in distributing ABS-CBNmobile’s services.
“We have a lot of Kapamilyas who would like to experience what ABS-CBNmobile can offer, especially when they’re on the go. That is why ABS-CBNmobile is perfect because they will be able to watch Kapamilya shows on their mobile phones,” said Villar.
Since its launch late last year, ABS-CBNmobile has allowed subscribers to catch up on their favorite Kapamilya shows via mobile internet or WiFi using their smartphones equipped with the iWant TV app, which can be downloaded free from the App Store and Google Play.
“Aside from that, we also produce shows exclusive only to ABS-CBNmobile subscribers. They can avail of load to call and text, too. Our new partnership with Kakao Talk even allows for free and unlimited calling and chatting,” he added.
Through the partnership with Kakao Talk, ABS-CBNmobile subscribers can now call and chat for free, until October 7, using the Kakao Talk app. Even those with zero load or those without WiFi access can enjoy unlimited and free calling and chatting. They just need to activate mobile data on their phones to use the app.
ABS-CBNmobile also released “Team Gonzaga,” an exclusive reality show on mobile where ABS-CBNmobile subscribers get to see Toni Gonzaga and her sister Alex going about their personal lives. It is the first reality show on mobile in the country, and is only available to ABS-CBNmobile subscribers.
There is also the Lee Min Ho festival where three of Lee Min Ho’s shows will be shown only on ABS-CBNmobile for one month. Fans of the Korean heartthrob will be able to watch “The Heirs,” “Boys Over Flowers,” and “The Faith,” and even repeat episodes again and again. (Story by Anthony Alcantara)
