ABS-CBN Global Limited celebrates its 15th year of serving Filipinos worldwide this August by reaffirming its promise of “Ibang Magmalasakit ang Kapamilya” by expanding its services in and outside the company.
EMoneyplus, Inc. (EMPI), the remittance arm of ABS-CBN subsidiaryIn the year 2000, ABS-CBN Global Limited established E-Moneyplus, Inc. (EMPI) to provide a remittance service that will allow overseas Filipinos (OFs) to send monies to their beneficiaries in the Philippines. EMPI initially set-up office in territories which include Italy, Hong Kong and North America (United States of America) and established tie-ups in other key remittance markets like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Taiwan, Singapore and Kuwait. Since then, EMPI has grown by expanding its services and further establishing tie-up arrangements in different parts of Asia (Brunphil Express (S) Pte Ltd in Asia Pacific and in the Middle East (Al Fuad Exchange, Al Ansari Exchange, Redha Al-Ansari Exchange, Al Rostamani International Exchange, Lulu Exchange in the United Arab Emirates) Middle East), Europe and North America (now including Canada).
In 2011, ABS-CBN Global Ltd. unveiled the remittance brand “myREMIT” to signify the company’s more meaningful engagement with Filipinos around the globe. With an overarching tag to underline the emotional affinity of the brand, “A Kapamilya Service of TFC,” myREMIT assures OFs better control of their money and provides them wise options for their remittance transactions.
Recently, myREMIT also expanded its services close to home by offering Foreign Exchange (ForEx), bills payment and domestic remittance services in myREMIT’s office at the Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center (ELJCC), Quezon City.
ABS-CBN Global Head of Customer Relations Management Allie Dela Cruz is one of the many Kapamilya employees who enjoy the ForEx service of the brand. According to her, “[myRemit’s ForEx service] has the best rates compared to competitive ForEx stores. Kapag nagpapalit sa myREMIT (when you have your money exchanged in myREMIT), you can immediately get it on the day that you asked for it because in other banks, they will have to reserve it at least a day.” Kapamilya employees, like dela Cruz, can check the updated ForEx rates through the intranet site, e-Frequency.
Now on its 15th year of providing only the best possible remittance service to Filipinos around the world, ABS-CBN Global Head of Remittance Raymund Abog shares this milestone to millions of Filipinos who made and continue make sacrifices for their loved ones. “We share this 15th year milestone of myREMIT to our kababayans who have sacrificed to be miles away from their family in the Philippines with the main goal of giving them a better life and a brighter future,” says Abog.
For EMPI General Manager Gilbert Bugia, remittance is a very emotional service that serves as an important link between these OFs and their families. “Celebrating myREMIT’s 15th year in the business is a humbling affirmation of our customers’ trust for the brand and our team’s ability to deliver the best service possible.” This according to him will be both an inspiration and a reminder for the team to remain steadfast in their mission to be of service to our kababayans in the many years to come.
The 15th year anniversary celebration was kicked off fittingly by this August’s first Friday mass sponsored by the myREMIT team. Eric Santos, global marketing head for remittance product portfolio and EMPI marketing head says “we wanted to express our gratitude for the many blessings that the team has earned over the past 15 years. We hope that the team will blessed with more years to be able to be of service to Kapamilyas worldwide.”
As a special treat to celebrate their 15th year, myREMIT will offer “Pick-a-Prize” from August 11 to August 18 where Kapamilya employees and customers can get a chance to win special prizes for every transaction at their myREMIT office. (Story/Photos by: Somewell Gadiane)
