Lopez Group employees and their family members and friends attended the HR Council-Lopez Lifelong Wellness Walk the Talk (WTT) at the Eugenio Lopez Center in Antipolo on July 16.
About 450The WTT for the month was held just a few days before the birth anniversary of Lopez Group founder Eugenio H. Lopez Sr. (EL Sr.) on July 20.
Hosted by First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH), First Philippine Realty Corporation (FPRC), First Philec and Third Generation Holdings Corporation, the event kicked off with FPRC’s Nhat Alajar delivering the invocation.
With Ayesha Volpane of FPH as emcee, Third Gen’s Ruffus Doquero led the recitation of the Lopez Credo and Values. Remi Batallador of FPRC delivered the welcome remarks.
The birthday celebrators for the month of July, with special mention of EL Sr., were recognized. The stretching and exercise portion went under way as Trini Trinidad of Whiplash and the Rockwell Club led the crowd in warming up.
August Villalon from EDC’s Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Response Unit provided a safety briefing to guide the participants in a much safer walking experience.
Since July is National Disaster Consciousness Month, OML Center hoped to increase awareness among Lopez Group employees on responding to common disasters experienced in the country. To make it fun, they introduced the Beware or Be+Aware: Disaster Challenge through Mariana Vargas, who explained how the activity would be done.
Each participant was given questionnaire booklets containing questions on disaster preparedness and adaptation, which they answered during the walk. Every correct answer would garner certain points to assemble a virtual go bag from among a list of possible items. The more points collected, the more complete the virtual go bag would be. OML Center will announce the winners on its website (www.omlopezcenter.org).
Meanwhile, the 10th anniversary of WTT will be held at First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on August 13. (Story/Photos by: Gerbs de Castro)
