Rockwell partners with Rags2Riches for Tarp to Tote

Rags2Riches’ medium tote is more roomy but still fashionable and eco-friendlyRags2Riches’ medium tote is more roomy but still fashionable and eco-friendlyRockwell unveils its latest Tarp to Tote initiative, where tarpaulin material from mall ads is repurposed into chic and eco-conscious totes.

Over the years, Rockwell had collaborated with renowned Filipino designers such as Amina Aranaz, Patty Ang and Zarah Juan to create these totes. This year, it teamed up with local social enterprise Rags2Riches for a whole new collection.

Previous Tarp to Tote collections used tarpaulin as the base or lining of the bag. For this collection, Rags2Riches and Rockwell are introducing two distinct styles. One is a micro-tote for those who seek a compact yet stylish bag to carry their essentials. The second is a medium tote that offers more space while still retaining the fashionable, ecofriendly aesthetic.

Both bags feature Rags2Riches’ signature weave, intricately fusing recycled denim with the tarp to give it a distinctive and eye-catching pattern. These two versatile materials combine to produce totes that are not only trendy, but are also exceptionally Filipino in craftsmanship—25 local artisans are dedicating their skill and passion to this project.

It took a remarkable 334 square meters of tarpaulin to create all the totes—as large as an establishment in Power Plant Mall—underscoring the magnitude of creativity and sustainability inherent in this collaboration.

These limited-edition totes can be purchased on shop.

TheRockwellist.com, Power Plant Mall’s e-commerce platform, or The Rockwellist pop-up at the R1 Level Lifestyle Hallway (near Commonwealth).

Rockwellists can claim one of each design on The Rockwellist mobile app for 5,000 points per tote. Note that the bags will be available only until supplies last.

Don’t miss your chance to own a sophisticated and sustainable piece of fashion. Learn more on Power Plant Mall’s Facebook and Instagram pages!
