Abs-cbn Film Productions’ “Rewind,” the comeback movie of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, will surely tug hearts with its take on family, faith and love.

Showing in cinemas nationwide beginning this Christmas as one of the official entries for the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), “Rewind” revolves around John (Dingdong), who looks to make up for lost time with his family after an accident.

Desperate to have his wife Mary (Marian) back in his life and to mend his relationship with their son Austin (Jordan Lim), he receives unexpected help from Lods (Pepe Herrera). But along with this opportunity, a costly consequence awaits.

Dingdong and Marian expressed their delight and gratitude to be starring in Star Cinema’s official MMFF entry, coproduced alongside APT Entertainment and Agosto Dos Pictures.

“Mula noong unang araw na mabasa namin ang script, nakakatuwa na talagang nabigyan namin ito ng buhay, that’s why I can’t wait to see the final product. Mapalad kami na isa sa mapili ng MMFF,” Dingdong said.

“Rewind” director Mae Cruz Alviar, along with story writer Enrico Santos, praised Dingdong and Marian for their performance on the big screen, noting that the roles of John and Mary are a perfect fit for “DongYan” and their portrayals will move audiences to tears.

“Ang laking factor talaga na it was DongYan who portrayed John and Mary. Iba kasi ‘yung totoong love na nadarama ng artista and it translates to the material,” Mae shared.

The movie’s trailer amassed more than 16 million views within 24 hours after its release on various Star Cinema and ABS-CBN platforms on Dec. 4.

Completing the cast of “Rewind” are Sue Ramirez, Joross Gamboa, Lito Pimentel, Ina Feleo, Ariel Ureta, Pamu Pamorada, Mary Joy Apostol, Via Antonio, Chamyto Aguedan and Coney Reyes.
