Tirona receives the Icon of Corporate Governance Award from Corporate Governance Asia managing director Aldrin Monsod in Hong KongLopez Holdings Corporation was honored as an “Icon” of Corporate Governance at The Best of Asia 2014 in Hong Kong. The ceremony marked the 10th Corporate Governance (CG) Asia Recognition Awards.
CG Asia is a Hong Kong-based quarterly publication that monitors the governance of publicly listed companies. Awardees came from China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Lopez Holdings first received recognition from CG Asia in 2009. Having consistently made the annual honor roll since, it received “the highest accolade…as the best of the best in corporate governance in Asia,” said Aldrin Monsod, founder, managing director and publisher of CG Asia. A total of 51 corporations made it to the Icons category, 13 of them from the Philippines.
In addition, CG Asia highlighted the efforts of 12 companies that are adopting measures to raise governance standards as “Most Promising”, and 23 firms that have made the list in the past few years as “Outstanding”. (Story by Carla Paras-Sison)
