Energy Development Corporation (EDC) was a big winner at the 19th Philippine Quill Awards, taking home a total of eight awards including Company of the Year 4th runner-up. The company also received four Awards of Excellence and three Awards of Merit.
“We believe that the way we communicate is just as important as the implementation and positive impact of our various corporate social responsibility programs, sustainability initiatives and stakeholder relations efforts,” said EDC assistant vice president and corporate relations and communications head Atty. Allan Barcena.
He added: “We proudly share these awards and recognitions with our partner organizations, communities and the people who have made our work successful and those who continuously help us attain our mission of forging collaborative pathways for a decarbonized and regenerative future.”
Three projects that promote a regenerative mindset received excellence awards under the Communication Skills category: “EDC and G Diaries: Changing the World 2gether,” “EDC Races for a Regenerative Future” and “EDC@45: Forging Regenerative Partner ships with Positive Impact,” the company’s 45th anniversary celebration.
An Award of Excellence in the Communication Management bracket went to the biodiversity conservation and monitoring program or BCMP that aims to increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of the rich flora and fauna that thrive within EDC’s geothermal facilities.
The geothermal leader also won three merit awards: one for “EDC@45: Forging Regenerative Partnerships with Positive Impact” which was again recognized in the Employee Engagement category, and two for “Powering the Flight of the Philippine Eagle” which won in the CSR and the Community Relations divisions.
Now on its 19th year, the Philippine Quill Awards is organized by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines, one of the country’s most prestigious award-giving bodies in the field of business communication. (Story/Photos by: Jolly Jamoralin)
