First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) opened its gates to its host communities of Sto. Tomas City and Tanauan City, Batangas to celebrate the spirit of togetherness after two years of isolation brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With stunning Christmas light displays, sweet treats and live performances from local and celebrity talents, FPIP’s four-weekend event, “Christmas Chill Nights@FPIP:Back Together Again!,” promised a magical greeting to the yuletide season.
‘De-light-ful’ weekend
“Christmas Chill Nights” officially commenced with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and welcomed all visitors celebrating with FPIP on Nov. 25.
This year was made extra special because there was not only one Christmas tree, but nine! FPIP locator-partners that participated in the “Tree-mendous!” Christmas tree decorating competition joined the ceremony and displayed their handcrafted trees made out of eco-friendly materials.
Taking place at the main fairground was the Christmas light tunnel that made every evening merry and bright!
Fun pastimes
There were no sleighs at FPIP, but there sure were pedal go-karts! Underneath the light tunnel was a miniature go-kart track that thrilled visitors of all ages.
Beside the track was the bazaar that boasted a range of delectable bites and festive products. Joyriders from the go-kart track could take a snack break to fuel their “engines,” while titas and titos could browse through the retail stalls to find the perfect Christmas gift for their loved ones.
Live performances
It’s not Christmas without a little bit of music—and “Christmas Chill Nights” brought a lot of it!
FPIP challenged locator employees and residents of its host communities to show off their talents at the “Rocka-oke Showdown” and get a chance to bring home the grand prize worth P30,000.
The municipalities of Sto. Tomas and Tanauan also joined in the festivities to boast their homegrown talents at their respective street parties. The “Sto. Tomas Street Party” brought in Le Grande Band, Vince Rivera, Lady Shane Villegas, Joshua de Villa, Black Team Dance Crew and Orange Team Dance Crew. Tanauan’s “Tanaw ang Liwanag ng Pasko” invited Tanauan Zumba Ladies, CGT Dance Crew, CIGOTA, Baste Band and the finalists from “Tanauan Sing Galing” and “Tanauan Hataw sa Galaw” to take over the fun at FPIP.
To top it all off, “Christmas Chill Nights” was decked with performances from OPM bands that put the rock in jingle bell rock. 6cyclemind and HEY JUNE! kicked off the jam sessions on opening night while Tuesday Vargas, MYMP, Fiona and Talata wrapped up the event on Dec. 16-18.
