Lopez Group founder’s inspiring story goes visual! “Eugenio at Heart” is a webcomics depiction of the man and his values that will be released starting this month in honor of the birth anniversary of Lopez Group founder Eugenio H. Lopez Sr. It trains the spotlight on the man who founded the Lopez Group, focusing on the most exciting and crucial events in his life, as a way of introducing him to today’s generation of Lopez Group employees. The corporate values of the Group were the personal values of Don Eugenio and what better way of explaining these than to sample key events of his business career. We start with his early venture into publishing in the late 1920s.
TheLopez Group chairman emeritus Oscar M. Lopez (OML) said in an email that “Eugenio at Heart” imparts the inspirations behind the seven Lopez values and how the employees can channel these values in achieving their own goals.
“…My father…built the Lopez Group based on values he imbibed as a student in Ateneo for ten years. His liberalism and concern for the welfare of our people was acquired during his college years at the University of the Philippines. And while his business acumen was something he learned from Lopez family members in Iloilo and Negros, his global perspective was something he developed in Harvard,” OML noted.
The “Eugenio at Heart” webcomics will also give employees a glimpse into the Group’s journey and how it became the institution that we know it to be.
The series, which features the art of comic book artist/writer Jonas Diego, will be emailed to the employees a page at a time and may also be accessed via lopezsummit.com.
