Abs-cbn Film Restoration streams the digitally restored classics of actor and musical scorer Jaime Fabregas in the latest edition of its Sagip Pelikula “Spotlight” series, featuring the screening of Star Cinema’s 2010 comedy film “Here Comes the Bride.”
Jaime remains one of the enduring figures in the industry. He is noted for his work in various cinematic masterpieces, including “Ganito Kami Noon... Paano Kayo Ngayon?,” “Oro, Plata, Mata” and most recently as Gen. Delfin Borja in ABS-CBN’s longest-running action series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” As a musical scorer, he first worked on the 1984 classic “Misteryo sa Tuwa.”
The latest edition of Sagip Pelikula “Spotlight” kicked off with the online premiere of the digitally restored version of “Here Comes the Bride,” where Jaime received acting nominations from the Golden Screen Awards and FAMAS Awards in 2011.
Costarring Angelica Panganiban, Eugene Domingo, Tuesday Vargas and John Lapus, the story revolves around a freak accident where the souls of bride-to-be Stefanie (Angelica) and four other individuals interchange. For some, it may be a blessing in disguise, especially for wedding stylist Toffee ( John), who is now the new bride. But for Stefanie, who’s switched with her feisty godmother Precy (Eugene), it’s a complete disaster.
Viewers can catch the digitally restored “Here Comes the Bride,” featuring a preshow interview with Jaime himself, now streaming in the latest Sagip Pelikula “Spotlight” via KTX. Tickets are available at bit.ly/HCTBonKTX for P150 each.
Apart from “Here Comes the Bride,” audiences can relive more of Jaime’s work as an actor in “Oro, Plata, Mata,” “Ganito Kami Noon… Paano Kayo Ngayon?,” “Bad Bananas sa Puting Tabing,” “Ngayong Nandito Ka,” “Puso ng Pasko,” “Sarah… Ang Munting Prinsesa” and “Haplos,” and as a scorer in “Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko,” “Wansapanataym the Movie,” “Hiling” and “Eskapo”—all digitally restored on KTX.
